| Volunteer Legal Services Program of the Bar Association of San Francisco |
| |
| Other Information: |
| VLSP provides a no-fee, pro bono panel system in most areas of civil law. Clients are screened for income (must be at poverty level guidelines or lower). All intake is done over the phone; clients call during our open intake hours during the week. VLSP matches clients with pro bono private attorneys through our Program, or schedules clients for one of our clinics staffed by pro bono private attorneys. All clients and cases are handled on an appointment basis, coordinated by VLSP staff and supervising attorneys. VLSP provides free legal and related social services in almost all areas of civil law except fee-generating matters or criminal and juvenile cases where the Public Defender provides representation. We speak Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and Spanish, and can provide interpreters in Russian and Tagalog. |
