Bay Area Legal Aid provides free legal services to low income residents of 7 Bay Area counties. (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara). Our priorities are housing, domestic violence, economic security and health. Eligibility is based on LSC guidelines (125% of poverty).

  Bring any documents directly related to the legal problem. Bring immigration documents for any non-citizen.
  NOTE: the Legal Advice Line reserves Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. for domestic violence-related calls only.

  Your family's income should be at or below 200.0% of the poverty level.

  Full Legal Representation
  Brief Advice- Counsel and Advice provided over the telephone.
  Pro Se Legal Clinic- Landlord/tenant issues only.
  Self-Help Materials- Domestic violence, housing, divorce, and public benefits info only.
  Other- Brief services.
