Inner City Law Center
ICLC is a nonprofit legal services organization located on Los Angeles' Skid Row, the area with the largest concentration of the City's homeless. Since its founding in 1981, ICLC has been the only organization of its kind offering low-income families living in the inner city a comprehensive legal services approach to the problems of homelessness and slum housing. In its over 25 years of providing free legal services, ICLC has specialized in working with 2 groups: families living in slum housing and the homeless. ICLC represents tenants in legal actions against slumlords, helps people obtain government benefits to which they are entitled, fights evictions, illegal rent increases, and harassment by landlords; and provides financial literacy training, among other services. ICLC also participates in helping to shape City policy toward the homeless and income tenants. |
